Lesson Description

If a member of your team is consistently failing to meet expectations, then you may need to consider a performance improvement plan (or PIP). This is a formal, structured process to help a staff member improve their performance. A PIP isn’t something to rush into though. It needs to form part of a wider performance management strategy. It also needs to be created with care so that your staff member has the best possible chance to make the needed improvements. In this lesson, we’ll explore what a PIP is, what it should contain and when it would be appropriate to use one. We’ll also cover best practices for implementing one and how you can support your staff member throughout the process.
