How NOT to be a Victim of Organisational Change

Do you feel like change is always being done to you?

As a manager, do you feel stuck between implementing the changes that are crucial for the organisation and the people who inherently know that "that change" in that way in their minds won't change much at all for the organisation?

You aren't alone. This tension you feel is felt by many people across all manner of industries and sectors, and it seems to be getting worse, not better.

Why does this happen? In most cases, there are two reasons:

  • Managers and leaders are not taught, encouraged or rewarded for handling the conflict and confrontation that arises between teams when we try to introduce changes to improve the way the organisation works.
  • They are often so busy with team-level administration from their business that even if they had the appetite or courage to tackle the conflict, their capacity doesn't allow for it.

What if we could solve both of these problems with a few tools and help reframe the problem?

Adam and Ket will explore how we create the capacity we need to engage with teams. Once we have the capacity, how do we lean into the conflict of change with peers?

It's only when we tackle these dynamics and have leaders and managers across an organisation accountable for change in their area AND leaning in to support change across the organisation that we begin to see an organisation that is nimble and adaptable to change.
